A number of our customers are retail businesses, making high-street shops a particular area of expertise for Stillframe. But we also have experience in CCTV systems for retail units on business parks, distribution and storage warehouses, industrial operations, car parks and government buildings.
For each customer we deliver a bespoke approach. When we receive a customer brief we take time to understand the requirements beyond the specification. We ask questions, we listen and we develop tailored proposals.
We think hard about how to manage the project most efficiently. The business might be running as normal with customers and employees around or there may be other contractors on site. So we work closely with the customer to minimise disruptions. We recognise that the requirements can change during installation for various reasons, often beyond the client's control. We try to be adaptable and to anticipate problems.
As well as training client staff during commissioning we also support operational teams during the early days, either on-site or through telephone support from Project Managers and Field Engineers.
Retail Store Install
To ensure customer safety and stock security in a new flagship retail store in London's West End
The store has far greater square footage than any of the retailer's other stores and its prime location meant that customer traffic would be continuously high. The store was on two floors with a number of escalators. Additionally, staff areas were to be covered appropriately and sensitively. There were a number of other technical and financial constraints.
Stillframe proposed a range of discreet, high quality cameras with powerful functional capability. Careful gridding of camera positions ensured maximum coverage while actually reducing the number of cameras originally forecast by the customer, thus keeping costs under control. A networked control hub was installed with a user-friendly interface and easy-to-use controls for proactive on-site and remote monitoring.
So successful was this solution that it has become the blueprint for future systems, as the client expands the number of stores.
Industrial Unit Install
To reduce genuine and fraudulent accident claims for a blue-chip paper recycling organisation.
Employee use of industrial machinery had to be compliant with Health & Safety procedures. Inadvertent breaches needed to detected and monitored so that managers could respond proactively to prevent repeat or future accidents. Deliberate breaches by employees or accidents resulting from their negligence had to be recorded for evidential purposes.
Stilllframe was able to demonstrate the the use of analytical tools built into many high-end digital and network recorders. Following customer sign-off Stillframe then overcame the challenges of installing the system in a 24-hour, high-risk operation through excellent project management, staff safety training, and daily client updates. The roll-out to a further eight sites was completed on time and on budget. Further projects have been commissioned by the client.
UK Wide Maintenance
To ensure the continuous and effective operation of existing CCTV systems for a national retailer with more than 1,000 stores across the UK.
Over a number of years a wide range of different technologies and manufacturer equipment had been installed by different companies, making the CCTV system in each store almost unique. Some systems were recently installed with valid warranties but from a variety of manufacturers. Other systems were aged with risk of failure. Regardless of each system's robustness, operational continuity was crucial.
Stillframe developed a bespoke maintenance and service contract with a number of key elements. It guaranteed a timed response to all calls, ranging from 24 hours to five working days with an associated price structure.
To make each site visit effective an asset register of site equipment, activity and warranties was created. Replacement or back-up equipment can be taken on first visit, ensuring rapid return of the system to operation. Based on analysis of site and equipment history a programme of preventative site visits has been drawn up. Processes for customer communication and approval of works have been drawn up.
